$200K FOR HOPE AND JOY

You guys rock! With the generous donations from last night’s dinner and auction we raised more than $200,000.

What’s that big dollar sign really mean?

It means you’re helping us give hope and joy to over 6,000 homeless and disadvantaged kids this Christmas.

We’re going to be giving gifts that make kids smile. We’re going to be filling lives with laughter. We’re going to be showing kids love. Thank you for helping us to do so.

Just what happened at the auction? There was candy. There were toys. There were tequila shots, autographed balls, and signed jerseys. And, there were a whole lot of GlassyBabys augmented by trips and exclusive opportunities such as joining Rick Rizzs in the broadcasting booth.

Billy Mac and Merrilee Rush sang. Santa, a large cast of elves and the Mariners Moose joined the party.

Several former Mariners players joined in the mix including: Bill Krueger, Dan Wilson, Dave Henderson and John Olerud. Current Mariners left fielder Raul Ibanez, also joined the fun. And, we even had a surprise appearance from Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch.

The Seattle Mariners RBI Club awarded Eric and Kate Wedge the Al “Moose” Clausen Community Service Award. (It’s an annual award given during our dinner and auction to a past or present member of the Mariners organization who has made a significant contribution to the community.)

Shopping for the kiddos will begin December 4. Stay tuned for more details.

We would also like to give a huge shout out to our sponsors the Seattle Mariners, Alaska Airlines, ROOT Sports and Nintendo.
